Tour Highlights

Itinerary Overview

Day 1.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International airport and transfer to a Hotel in Arusha. This day I will advise you to be faster getting out of the plane at JRO and get to the line for visa or stamp your visa and pick your luggage before getting out. It normally takes longer for people to get out because of long queue for visa and stamp your passport. You will see someone with the sign reading “BJM EXPEDITIONS” to meet you.

Day 2.

Pick clients from the hotel after breakfast around 8am and drive to Arusha national park. The park is an outstanding and beautiful area! It is small but has a wide range of habitats from the string of crater lakes where water birds can be watched through the highland montane forest. The park contains a wealth of birds and other animals like Giraffes, bushbucks, Zebras, Baboons, Colobus monkeys, cape buffaloes, etc. Apart from game viewing we will also have a time to do a short walk within the park to a beautiful waterfall. There will be time for picnic lunch somewhere in the park and later drive back to the Hotel in Arusha.

Day 3.

Pick clients from the Hotel at 7:30am after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park. Game drive in the park looking for animals and learn about everything we see in the park. There will be time for picnic lunch in the park and continue with game drive until late afternoon when we will drive to a hotel at Karatu. Tarangire national park is famous for many elephants and other animals but also a good place to see Baobab trees. There is a lot to learn in the park and excellent scenery around. Late afternoon, drive to Karatu and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4.

Leave early after breakfast and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Authority Area. It is a protected area and a world Heritage site. It is the place where wildlife coexisting with semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists (local tribe) practicing traditional livestock grazing with their domestic. It is a multiple land use area. It includes the World’s largest Caldera (Ngorongoro Crater). We will drive into the crater and spend the whole day there watching, learning and explore the area with animals and birds. Picnic lunch in the crater and drive out of the area and back to Karatu town for dinner and accommodation at the Lodge

Day 5.

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti national park through Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will have time to stop at the Ngorongoro gate for signing and at the rim of the crater there will be another stop to see the Crater if the weather is clear. On the way to Serengeti, game viewing with picnic lunch on the way. Late evening drive to a Tented camp/Lodge for leisure, dinner and overnight.

Day 6.

Spend the whole day in this famous park searching for Zebras and Wildebeest migration followed by predators like Lion, Leopard and Cheetah with picnic lunch. Late evening drive back to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight

Day 7.

Key essentials include neutral-coloured clothing (e.g., khaki, olive, beige), sturdy walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, binoculars, a camera, a light jacket for evenings, and any personal medications. Many lodges offer laundry services, so pack light.

For a comfortable exploration of Tanzania’s major wildlife areas, we recommend 7-10 days. Shorter trips (3-5 days) are possible if focusing on a single park, but a longer stay allows for a more relaxed pace and deeper immersion.

Safari accommodation ranges from mobile tented camps and standard lodges to luxury camps. Vehicles are typically 4 × 4 open-top or with pop-up roofs, operated by experienced driver-guides familiar with local terrain and wildlife behaviour.
